An unverified video has surfaced online showing Kannada film actor Darshan Thoogudeepa socializing with gangster Wilson Garden Naga and others while smoking a cigarette and sipping a beverage. Another photo allegedly showing Darshan smoking with a coffee mug in hand inside Parappana Agrahara Central Prison has sparked public outrage on social media. Subsequently, a video of Darshan on a video call with a fan has emerged, prompting concerns about the prison's inmate security protocols. These incidents occurred after Darshan's unsuccessful request for home-cooked meals, leading to an investigation and the suspension of seven police officials. Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah has reportedly instructed DGIGP Alok Mohan to transfer Darshan to a different prison due to the growing criticism.
